When you arrive to the port of Canakkale, your private guide will be waiting to lead you to your own luxury vehicle, in which you can relax as your private shore excursion.

Depart from port of Kepez/Canakkale and drive to Assos.  Assos is small, but historically rich town. The city was founded from 900-1000 BC by Aeolian colonists from Lesbos, who specifically are said to have come from Methymna.

Aristotle lived here and opened his Academy. The city was also visited by St. Paul. Today Assos is a Aegean-coast seaside retreat amid ancient ruins. It is possible to see much of the surrounding area from the ancient Temple of Athena, built on top of a trachyte crag.

From this temple, it is possible on a clear day to see nearby Lesbos in the south, Pergamum in the south east, and Mount Ida of Phrygia in the east. Many of the old buildings of Assos are in ruins today, but Behramkale (the city’s modern name) is still active. It still serves as a port and temple ruins remain.

After all the visits, you will turn back to port of Kepez/Canakkale.
